Ian Loney

Ian Loney has a strong background in the mining industry with a range of roles and responsibilities. Ian is currently working as a Senior Mining Engineering Technician at West Red Lake Gold Mines Ltd. since June 2023. Previously, Ian served as a Projects Coordinator and Planning Supervisor at PureGold Mining Inc. from April 2022 to July 2023 and from January 2021 to March 2022, respectively. Ian also worked as a Senior Planner at PureGold Mining Inc. from June 2020 to January 2021. Before that, Ian worked as a Strategy Planner at Newmont Corporation from January 2020 to June 2020. Additionally, they served as a Mine Planner and Scheduler at Newmont Goldcorp Corporation from May 2019 to November 2019. Ian's earlier experience includes roles as a Mine Services Scheduler at Goldcorp from July 2018 to May 2019, a Mine Planner from June 2017 to July 2018, a Ground Control Technician from August 2011 to June 2017, and an Underground Surveyor from May 2010 to August 2011.

Ian Loney obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering Technology from Queen's University, specializing in Mining and Mineral Engineering. Ian completed this program from 2015 to 2020. Prior to that, from 2008 to 2010, Ian studied at Cambrian College, where they obtained a Mining Engineering Technician diploma with a focus on Mining Technology/Technician.
