Jim Douglas

Secretary at West Virginia Symphony Orchestra

Jim Douglas has been working in the music industry for over 40 years. Jim started out as a timpanist for the Grand Rapids Symphony and then the Kansas City Philharmonic. In 1982, they left their position as a timpanist to start their own percussion company, David Gross Percussion Products. Jim then worked as an artist representative and consultant for Yamaha Percussion and Pearl/Adams Percussion before becoming the executive director of the Lansing Symphony Orchestra in 2007. In 2009, they returned to the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra, where they currently serve as the secretary.

Jim Douglas studied music performance at the Curtis Institute of Music.
