Melissa Hoskins

Melissa Hoskins has a diverse work experience in the education sector. Melissa currently works at West40 ISC #2, where they hold the roles of Director of Remote Learning and Principal of West40 Remote School. In their previous position as Head of School at West40 Remote School, they oversaw the operations of the school. Before that, Melissa worked as an Academic Coordinator, where they coached teachers, developed strategies to improve student performance, and maintained communication systems for stakeholders. Prior to joining West40, they were a Science Teacher at a start-up remote school, where they designed and implemented data collection and organization systems. Melissa also has experience working as a Virtual Summer School Teacher and a Virtual High School Science Teacher. Melissa'searlier work experience includes being a High School Science Teacher and a Customer Service Training Coach at BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina.

Melissa Hoskins attended Winthrop University from 1997 to 2001, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology/Biological Sciences. In 2022, they enrolled at Grand Canyon University and completed a Master of Education degree in Educational Leadership and Administration, General in 2023. Additionally, Melissa holds certifications including an Illinois Professional Educator License obtained in June 2021 from the Illinois State Board of Education and an SC Teaching Certificate obtained in June 2019 from the South Carolina State Board of Education.
