Phanindra Sama

Phanindra Sama (Phani), is an Advisor at Westbridge Capital, and is based in Bangalore, India.

Phani Founded redBus.com, the world’s largest online bus ticketing company, operating in 6 countries. After exiting redBus, Phani Co-Founded Kakatiya Sandbox, a social impact venture based in his hometown Nizamabad that scaled to 300+ full time staff. In his latest role, he served the Government as the Chief Innovation Officer, Govt. of Telangana.

Phani is a Young Global Leader (YGL) at the World Economic Forum. He received the Fortune 40 under 40 award twice and the BITSAA 30 under 30 award. Phani serves on the board of T-Works, India’s largest hardware prototyping center.

Phani holds a B.E (Hons) with distinction from BITS-Pilani. He received the Chevening Standard Chartered Financial Services Fellowship from King’s College, London. He earned proficiency in Computer Networks, Sustainable Leadership, and Economics & Psychology from IISC, Swedish Institute, and Stanford University respectively.
