Andrew Cal

Vice President, Strategic Operators Group, Cyber Practice at WestCap

Andrew Cal has a diverse work experience, starting with their current role as Vice President in the Strategic Operators Group, Cyber Practice at WestCap since February 2022. Prior to that, they served as the Information Technology Team Manager in the United States Army Reserve from September 2021. Before that, they worked as an Information Technology Audit Manager at USAA from February 2021 to February 2022.

From 2013 to 2021, Andrew held various positions in the North Carolina National Guard, including IT Team Manager, where they were responsible for overseeing IT operations, developing IT strategies, and establishing service metrics. Andrew also worked as a Senior IT Auditor at Wells Fargo from 2017 to 2021, where they conducted IT-related controls assurance and provided advisory for risk management.

Earlier in their career, Andrew worked as a Network Systems Analyst at BB&T from 2014 to 2017, where they resolved network problems and managed projects to drive process improvements. Andrew also served in the US Army as the Director of Installation Services, managing a large workforce and optimizing budget management.

Lastly, they worked as a System Analyst at AmerisourceBergen from 2013 to 2014, providing IT support and managing the company's access policy and identity management.

Andrew Cal completed their high school education at Marvin Ridge High School. Andrew then attended North Carolina State University from 2009 to 2013, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in History. Following that, Andrew pursued a Master's degree in Information Cyber Security at the UC Berkeley School of Information from 2018 to 2020.

In terms of certifications, Andrew obtained various qualifications throughout their career. These include the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) from ISACA in December 2016, Scrum Fundamentals Certified from SCRUMstudy in October 2016, ITIL Foundations from EXIN in May 2016, CompTIA Network+ and CompTIA Security+ from CompTIA in September 2013, and CCNA 200-120 from Cisco in May 2014. Andrew also obtained additional certifications in 2016 from Lynda.com, including ITIL Foundations, Microsoft® Project 2010 Essential Training, and SQL Essential Training. In 2020, they completed the Master of Information and Cyber Security program from the University of California, Berkeley. Most recently, in August 2022, Andrew obtained the Defending Enterprises - 2022 Edition certification from In.security.
