Matilde Roman, Esq. currently serves as the Senior Vice President and Chief Equity, Inclusion and Diversity Officer at Westchester Medical Center, a position held since March 2022. Previously, Matilde was the Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer at NYC Health + Hospitals and held the role of Senior Director from July 2013 to March 2022. Matilde also contributed as an Adjunct Associate Professor at Baruch College, teaching a capstone civil rights course on Immigration Law and Policy from August 2011 to August 2017. In the role of Deputy Commissioner and General Counsel at the Office of the Mayor, City of New York from June 2006 to July 2013, Matilde advised on policies affecting immigrants and limited English proficient residents. Earlier career highlights include serving as an Adjunct Lecturer at The Graduate Center, City University of New York, and as the Executive Director of the NYC Department of Youth & Community Development from 2002 to 2006. Matilde obtained a Doctor of Law (JD) degree from New York Law School between 1995 and 1998.
