Sei Iwai has a diverse work experience in the field of medicine. From 1994 to 1997, they worked as an Internal Medicine Resident at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center. Sei then joined New York Hospital--Cornell, where they held various roles including Cardiology Fellow, Cardiac Electrophysiology Fellow, and Cardiac Electrophysiologist from 1997 to 2009. In 1999, they also began working as an Instructor in Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College, eventually progressing to Assistant Professor of Medicine, Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine, and finally Director of the Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship Program. In 2009, they joined Stony Brook University Medical Center as Professor of Clinical Medicine and took on additional responsibilities as the Director of the Complex Arrhythmia Ablation Program and Director of the Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology Fellowship Program. In 2012, they further expanded their expertise by joining Westchester Medical Center as the Director of the Cardiac Electrophysiology Service and Director of the Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology Fellowship Program. In the same year, they also became a Professor of Clinical Medicine at New York Medical College.
Sei Iwai earned a BA in Economics from Harvard University in 1990 and went on to complete an MD in Medicine at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1994.
