Thao M. Doan, MPH, DrPH has a diverse work experience spanning over several organizations and roles. Thao M. began their career in 2002 as an Advisor to the United Nations Expert Group Meeting on Trafficking in Women and Girls at the World Health Organization. From 2004 to 2016, they held positions as a Research Project Manager and Research Scientist III at the Columbia University Department of Psychiatry and New York State Psychiatric Institute. In 2007, they also worked as an Adjunct Professor at Monroe College. In 2014, they joined Westchester Medical Center as a Senior Research Analyst and later took on roles as the Director of Health Services Research and the Director of the Office of Research and Grants Administration. Since 2019, they have also served as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at New York Medical College.

Thao M. Doan, MPH, DrPH has a Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) degree in Health Policy and Management from New York Medical College. Thao M. also holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree in Maternal and Child Health, acquired from the same institution. Earlier, Thao completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biology and Chemistry at the University of Mount Saint Vincent. Additionally, they have obtained various certifications, including Understanding Human Trafficking from the NYS Office for Victims of Crime in 2020, and Danger Assessment from John Hopkins University in 2019. Thao has also completed Victim Assistance Training from the NYS Office for Victims of Crime in 2019 and is an American Lung Association "Freedom from Smoking" Facilitator since 2018. Other certifications they hold include Healthify in 2016, Patient Activation Measure (PAM) and Flourish in 2015, Salient Interactive Miner (SIM) in 2014, and Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) Human Subject Research in 2004. Thao has additional certifications in FormAssembly, Psychiatric Services and Clinical Knowledge Enhancement System (PSYCKES), and Salesforce.
