Dr. Zujaila Ornelas

Dr. Zujaila Ornelas serves as the Program Manager for English Learners and Migrant Education Services at WestEd, focusing on systems change efforts and support for State and Local Educational Agencies. Previously, Dr. Ornelas worked as the State Director at the Arizona Department of Education, overseeing federal grant programs and financial activities related to grant administration. Additionally, experience includes serving as an Application Reader for the U.S. Department of Education and holding various positions at Arizona State University, such as Student Recruitment and Family Engagement Coordinator for the College Assistance Migrant Program. Dr. Ornelas holds a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership and Innovation and a Master's degree in Higher and Postsecondary Education Administration from Arizona State University, along with a Bachelor's degree from the University of Arizona.
