Yvonne Kao

Yvonne Kao is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in educational technology and research. Currently serving as the Director of Learning and Technology Content Area at WestEd since October 2011, Yvonne also holds the position of Senior Research Associate, contributing to the development of the California State Computer Science Standards and leading the Vision for Teaching and Learning Working Group within the EdTech Genome Project. In previous roles, Yvonne acted as a Research Associate, co-directing formative evaluations for augmented reality in early elementary math education and conducting usability testing for innovative educational tools. Prior experience includes an Analyst and Program Coordinator at Reasoning Mind, where Yvonne managed research trials and produced impactful reports. Yvonne holds a PhD in Cognitive Psychology from Carnegie Mellon University and a BS in Computer Science, Mathematics, and Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
