Edward Lopez is an accomplished academic and leader in the field of economics, currently serving as the Executive Director and Past President of The Public Choice Society since 2012. As a Professor of Economics and BB&T Distinguished Professor of Capitalism at Western Carolina University, Edward teaches microeconomics and the ethics of capitalism while administering the Moral Foundations of Capitalism Program. Edward also founded the Center for the Study of Free Enterprise at WCU in 2015. Additionally, Edward holds the position of Features Editor at Liberty Fund, where responsibilities include curating articles for the Library of Economics and Liberty. Edward's extensive experience in various editorial roles includes serving as Associate Editor for the Journal of Entrepreneurship & Public Policy and Co-Editor for the Journal of Economics and Finance Education. Edward's academic background includes a Ph.D. in Economics from George Mason University and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Texas A&M University.
