Jane Hughes

Jane Hughes currently serves as the Interim Dean of the Belcher College of Fine and Performing Arts at Western Carolina University, a position held since March 2018, while also fulfilling the roles of Associate Dean and Associate Professor of Interior Design. Prior experience includes a tenure at Converse College from August 2011 to July 2020 as an Assistant Professor, teaching various interior design courses, and an earlier role at the University of Kentucky as a Teaching Assistant. From 2001 to 2009, Jane Hughes owned and operated Fentress-Hughes Interiors, focusing on multi-family design projects across the United States. Earlier career experience includes positions as Designer and Senior Designer at Ramsey Design Concepts, working on notable resort properties and multi-family designs. Education credentials include a Master of Arts in Interior Design from the University of Kentucky and a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from Miami University.
