Melissa Snyder is an accomplished academic and clinical expert in athletic training, currently serving as an Associate Professor and Program Director at Western Carolina University since July 2014. Prior to this role, Melissa held positions at Ashland University as an Assistant Professor and Athletic Training Clinical Education Coordinator, contributing to the education of students in athletic training, exercise science, sport management, and education. Melissa co-founded Triad Teacher Researchers, a professional network aimed at enhancing teacher effectiveness through research in the Triad area. With extensive experience in athletic training from roles at the Sports Medicine & Orthopaedics Center and various academic institutions, Melissa has also contributed significantly to program accreditation and student mentorship. Melissa holds a PhD in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Athletic Training Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, alongside a Master's and Bachelor's degree in related fields from the same institution and the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, respectively.
