Rob Ryan

Rob Ryan is a seasoned Sr. Technologist in R&D Engineering at Western Digital Innovation Laboratory, specializing in motion control, semiconductor chip development, and data storage systems. Previously, they held leadership and engineering roles at well-known companies, including Printronix LLC, Bendix Oceanics Division, and Western Digital, contributing to innovations that led to over 49 patents and the delivery of performance-driven products. Rob holds a Master of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of California, Irvine, and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, where they also achieved 2nd place in a regional IEEE design competition. Active in STEM education, Rob enjoys volunteering at local schools and has a history of building combat robots and cars with their child.
