Jonathan Armstrong

Jonathan Armstrong has extensive work experience in the forestry and forest management industry. Jonathan began their career as a Forestry Technician at Liskeard Lumber Ltd. in 1993 and later worked as a Planning Forester at Timiskaming Forest Alliance Inc. from 1995 to 2001. Jonathan then served as a Forester at a Forest Consultant from 2001 to 2002 before becoming a Forest Engineer at Coast Forest Management from 2002 to 2003.

In 2003, Armstrong joined Forsite Consultants Ltd. as a Planning Forester and Resource Analyst, where they worked until 2005. From 2005 to 2010, they worked as a Forest Analyst at Forest Ecosystem Solutions Ltd., followed by the role of Strategic Planning Forester at Sinclar Group Forest Products Ltd. from 2010 to 2012.

Armstrong's most recent work experience is with Western Forest Products, where they have held various managerial and executive positions. Jonathan started as a Land Use Forester in 2012 and then progressed through roles such as Timberlands Business Optimization Manager, Manager of Inventory, Analysis & Optimization, and Director of Fibre Optimization. From 2016 to 2020, they served as the General Manager of Timberlands Planning before being promoted to Vice President, Fibre Supply. Currently, they hold the position of Vice President of Forest Stewardship and Fibre Supply.

Jonathan Armstrong completed their Diploma in Integrated Resource Management in Forestry at Lakehead University from 1995 to 1997. Jonathan then pursued a Bachelor of Science in Forestry with a Co-op program at the same university from 1997 to 2001.
