David Morales has extensive experience in technology leadership, currently serving as the Senior Vice President of Technology and Chief Information Officer at Western Governors University since November 2018, overseeing technology operations for over 120,000 online students and a distributed workforce of 6,000. Previously, David worked at Walmart Labs as Senior Director of Software Engineering, where responsibilities included designing cloud and mobile solutions for Walmart's global systems, and held various senior roles at Walmart focused on cloud engineering from 2010 to 2018. David's earlier career includes positions at Anamarc College as Senior Vice President of Technology, Altep as Director of Enterprise Software Solutions, and roles at Knowlysis and Wal-Mart. David began a career in software development at NASA's Digital Media Center. David earned a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from The University of Texas at El Paso between 1999 and 2001.
