The McClarty family has been farming tree fruit and grapes in the central valley since 1887. In 1987 Harold McClarty established HMC Farms and grew the 40 original acres of produce into one of the largest tree fruit and value added grape suppliers. HMC Farms has several locations: Kingsburg, Traver, Parlier and Reedley, California and Santiago, Chile. The company is a grower-shipper-packer of tree fruit and table grapes. They also farm, market and pack peaches, plums, and nectarines.
Harold is a graduate of the University of California at Santa Cruz. He is the former chairman of the California Fresh Fruit Association, an elected Table Grape Commissioner, a former member of the board of directors at UC Davis, a member of the board of the State Center Community College Foundation, and a member of the AFPC Board of Directors. Harold has also served on the California Tree Fruit Agreement peach committee, executive committee and chairman of the promotion committee.
Harold was elected to the board in 2007.
