Carrie Howton serves as the Human Services Program Director at Western Nebraska Community College since August 2017, following a prior role as a Mental Health Therapist at Options in Psychology, LLC from December 2013 to July 2017. Carrie has extensive experience in the mental health field, including positions as a Psychology Intern at Sheridan VAMC and a Practicum Student at both Panhandle Mental Health Center and Options in Psychology, LLC. Additional experience includes serving as a Clinical Therapist at Regional West Medical Center's Behavioral Health Unit and internships at Options in Psychology, LLC and Nebraska Counseling Associates. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Criminal Justice from Chadron State College, a Master of Science in Education in Community Counseling from the University of Nebraska at Kearney, and a PhD in Clinical Psychology from Fielding Graduate University.
