Helen Apperley

Helen Apperley is a seasoned compliance professional with extensive experience in the insurance and financial services sectors. Currently serving as the Senior Compliance Assurance Manager at WPA - Western Provident Association since January 2020, Helen focuses on compliance management and the implementation of Consumer Duty. Prior roles include Senior Compliance Consultant at NFU Mutual, where responsibilities involved managing General Insurance business partnering, and Prudential Risk Consultant focused on regulatory compliance within the group’s risk and actuarial department. Helen started their career at Ecclesiastical Insurance Group, advancing from Graduate Management Trainee to Compliance Officer, responsible for monitoring UK and EU regulatory changes. Additional experience includes a role as a Careers Officer at the Chartered Insurance Institute and participating in the graduate scheme for claims at Endsleigh Insurance. Helen holds a Bachelor of Science in Geography from the University of Southampton.
