Fatima Perkins has a diverse work experience in various organizations. Fatima started their professional journey in 2007 as the Adult Services Manager at Cuyahoga County Public Library, where they worked until 2015. In 2005, they also held a position at Wright State University and Ohio Commission on Minority Health as a member of the Research Evaluation Enhancement Team. Currently, they serve as the Director of Community Outreach & Advocacy at Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging, starting from 2015.
Fatima Perkins pursued their education at various institutions. From 2002 to 2004, they attended the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University, where they obtained a Master's degree in Nonprofit Organization Management (MNO). Following this, they continued their studies at Case Western Reserve University, where they earned a Bachelor's degree. Lastly, their educational journey led their to the Syracuse University School of Information Studies, where they completed their studies in Library Science and earned a Master of Science in Library and Information Science (MSLIS).
Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging
Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging (WRAAA) is a private non-profit corporation, organized and designated by the State of Ohio to be the planning, coordinating and administrative agency for federal and state aging programs in Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain and Medina Counties. It is one of twelve Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs) in the state organized together with local service provider organizations and the Ohio Department of Aging (ODA) to form the state's public aging services network. The network works together to develop systems of long-term services and supports (LTSS); and to create opportunities for older Ohioan's to receive them and to age successfully in their own homes and communities. The Agency is also involved in a number of special projects created in response to identified needs and opportunities. Those projects include helping LTC consumers better transition between care settings and empowering them to assume more responsibility for their health and wellness through prevention and disease self-management; and working with the VA to assist veterans with dementia.
