Michael Scharer-Zielinski currently serves as the Digital Archivist & Preservation Manager at the Western Reserve Historical Society, leading the development of digital collections infrastructure and overseeing digital archives management and preservation policies. Previous experience includes roles such as Digital Access Assistant at Allied Vaughn, Visual Asset Management Coordinator at Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, and Digital Content Specialist at Ford Motor Company, where responsibilities involved managing digital asset systems, cataloging materials, and ensuring adherence to metadata standards. Michael’s background also includes positions as a Corporate Archivist and Archives Intern, contributed to enhancing public access to historical collections, and earned a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from Wayne State University.
