Western Reserve Land Conservancy
Chris Szell is an accomplished professional in conservation and environmental science, currently serving as Senior Director of Conservation Projects and Director of Conservation Project Management at Western Reserve Land Conservancy since November 2007. Additionally, Chris has held the position of Village Council President in Hiram since January 2018, following previous service as a Village Council Person. Prior experience includes roles as a Biologist with The Nature Conservancy and Conservation Resource Biologist with the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks. Chris began a career in the field as a Research Technician in Mammology at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences and served as a Peace Corps Volunteer teaching math and science in Swaziland. Chris holds a Master's degree in Biology/Biological Sciences from The University of Southern Mississippi and a Bachelor of Science in Biology/Biological Sciences from Hiram College.
