Michael Speas

Vp, Chief Information Security Officer And Infrastructure at Western & Southern Financial

Michael Speas has more than 25 years of experience in various roles within the IT and security field. Michael currently serves as the VP, Chief Information Security Officer and Infrastructure at Western & Southern Financial Group. Prior to this, they worked as the Chief Information Security Officer, FVP at the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis, where they oversaw the information security management program, the Business Continuity Management Program, and the Vendor Management Office. Before that, they held the position of Director of IT Assurance and Shared Services, VP at the same company, where they managed IT Assurance activities and various IT services. Michael also has previous experience at Inmar and RMIC, where they held management positions overseeing network and security systems, application security, disaster recovery planning, and information security governance. Michael has extensive knowledge of industry regulations and guidelines and has collaborated with senior management and outside consultants on security audits and vulnerability assessments. Throughout their career, Michael has demonstrated a strong focus on ensuring the security and integrity of IT systems and networks.

Michael Speas earned a BS in Computer Science from the University of North Carolina Wilmington in 1993. Michael also attended De Montfort University from 1991 to 1992, studying Computer Science. In 2013, Michael received a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Saint Leo University. Michael has additional certifications, including the Series 99 from FINRA obtained in 2020 and the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from ISC2 obtained in 2005.
