Naren Gunja

Naren Gunja has a diverse work experience in the medical field. Naren started their career in 1998 as an Emergency Physician & Toxicologist at Western Sydney Local Health District, where they also served as the Chief Medical Information Officer from 2017. Naren was also a Clinical Lead - eMeds in the same organization from 2015 to 2019. In 2006, they joined Western Sydney Toxicology Service as a Clinical & Forensic Toxicologist. Naren Gunja also holds the position of Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Sydney since 2006. From 2007 to 2013, they worked as the Medical Director at the NSW Poisons Information Centre.

Naren Gunja completed a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree in Medicine from the University of Sydney from 1992 to 1997. Naren then pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Forensic Toxicology from the University of Florida from 2010 to 2012. Additionally, they obtained a Fellowship in Clinical Toxicology from Westmead Hospital in 2005-2006. Naren also earned the degree of FACEM in Emergency Medicine from the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine from 2000 to 2005. Naren Gunja has further certifications, including being a Certified Health Informatician Australasia from HISA | Australia's digital health community in 2018 and completing the Leadership Strategies for Information Technology in Health Care program from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health in 2016.
