Marianna Tsartolia has a diverse work experience in the field of dance and arts. Marianna is currently working as the Director Of The Arts at Westfield Area Y since October 2019. Prior to this, they served as an Associate Coordinator-Lead Teacher at Westfield Area Y Dance Academy starting from January 2017.
Starting from October 2016, Marianna has been pursuing freelance work as a Dance Educator, Choreographer, Dancer, and Actress. Marianna has worked as a choreographer for youth ensembles, private and public schools. Marianna has also taught modern dance at various dance institutions and schools, conducting private classes for aspiring professional dancers.
From September 2014 to October 2017, Marianna worked at RIOULT Dance NY in various roles. Marianna initially served as a Dance Education Associate, and later became the Artistic Director of Youth Programs. Their responsibilities included curriculum creation, teaching, and choreography for Youth Ensemble, outreach residencies, summer camps, and weekly classes in modern technique and choreography.
Marianna's earlier work experience includes being a dancer, regisseur, and assistant to the choreographer for Youth, as well as an Artistic Advisor for the DanceREACH program at RIOULT Dance NY from September 1998 to the present. During this time, they performed as a lead and ensemble dancer, toured nationally and internationally, and conducted technique workshops and staged choreographies in Europe, US, and Bermuda.
Marianna also worked as a modern dance teacher-repetiteur at Hellenic Dance Company in July 2004 and as a ballet dancer at Connecticut Ballet Center Inc from August 1996 to February 1998. In addition, they have worked as a dancer at Modern Dance Company of Harris Mandafounis from August 1993 to November 1994, Octana Dance Theater from May 1992 to July 1993, and Seresta Dance from May 1988 to September 1990, where they performed in choreographies and toured nationally and in Europe.
Marianna Tsartolia has a diverse education history in the fields of fashion design and dance. Marianna earned a Certificate in Fashion Design from Parsons School of Design - The New School, focusing on Fashion/Apparel Design and Costume Design. Marianna also completed the International Program of Merce Cunningham Technique at the Merce Cunningham Studio, studying dance. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree from the State School of Dance, specializing in Dance, Choreography, and Dance Education.
