Matt Berkhout

Matt Berkhout currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Stay Salty Inc., a company that focuses on research expeditions and educational activities in marine environments. In addition, Matt holds the position of Research Vessel Captain at the South Fork Natural History Museum & Nature Center, where shark tagging expeditions are planned and coordinated. As a Senior Lecturer at Saint Joseph's College NY, Matt constructs and delivers academic content in various scientific disciplines, including Anatomy and Physiology and Environmental Biology. At Westhampton Beach UFSD, Matt designs and delivers curricula in Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, and Forensic Science. Previous experience includes roles as a Senior Ocean Lifeguard at La Ronde Beach Club and a Science Teacher at Deer Park School District. Matt holds a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies - Natural Sciences from Stony Brook University, a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a Minor in Chemistry from St. Joseph's College NY, and an Associate of Arts from Suffolk County Community College.
