Michael Porco

Michael Porco is a seasoned professional in radiation safety and controls, currently serving as a Radiation Safety Officer at Westinghouse Electric Corporation since January 2022. In this role, Michael oversees radiation protection programs for service centers associated with nuclear power plant operations. Previously, as a Principal Radiation Protection Engineer, responsibilities included monitoring regulatory compliance related to radiological operations. Michael’s career spans over two decades, including significant roles at BWXT Technical Services Group, where oversight of radiological controls for the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program was paramount. Early career experience includes radiation monitoring at Babcock & Wilcox and engineering laboratory supervision in the US Navy. Michael holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Nuclear Energy Engineering Technology from Thomas Edison State University.
