Chip Swearngan

Chip Swearngan is an experienced communications and government relations executive, currently serving as Head of Communications and Government Relations at Westlake Corporation since November 2014. In this role, Chip directs all internal and external communications along with government affairs, particularly following the integration of Axiall into the Westlake Chemical family. Prior to this, Chip held senior leadership positions at First Data Corporation, where responsibilities included global communications and investor relations, and at Metavante Corporation, overseeing corporate communications and investor relations during key transitions in the company's public market positioning. Early career experiences include roles at Edelman Public Relations, Ericsson, and Burns McClellan, focusing on reputation management, communications strategy, and investor relations for various industries. Chip holds a BA in History from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an MBA in Business Administration from Alverno College.
