Gary Swanson has extensive experience in broadcast communications, currently serving as the Technical Operations Manager and Chief Operator at WWNW 88.9 FM since September 1987, where responsibilities include coordinating facilities and technology for the Broadcast Communications program. Additional roles include leading remote broadcast teams and instructing practicum courses. Swanson's involvement extends to the Mercer County Juvenile Advisory Council as a board member, and serving as the Assistant Varsity Boys Basketball coach at Hermitage School District since 2018. A former studio host at WPIC AM for a high school football scoreboard show, Swanson also worked as a radio announcer and program director across several stations, earning recognition as a 1998 Gus Macker Hall of Fame inductee for contributions as an entertainer and master of ceremonies at charitable basketball events. Swanson holds a Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Telecommunications from Westminster College.
