Sebastian Dierkes

Sebastian Dierkes is an experienced professional in system development and engineering, currently serving as the Leiter Systementwicklung at Westnetz GmbH since March 2022. Prior to this role, Sebastian worked at E.ON from August 2016 to March 2022, where responsibilities included leading the Expert Team in System Technology and Operation for Grid Control Management, as well as contributing to Asset Management and Innovation. Earlier experience includes positions as Chief Engineer and Research Assistant at the Institute of Power Systems and Power Economics (IAEW) at RWTH Aachen University from June 2010 to June 2016, and an internship at Statkraft in 2009. Educational qualifications include a Dr.-Ing. obtained at RWTH Aachen University from 2010 to 2014 and a Diplom in Electrical Engineering and Electronics from the same institution from 2005 to 2010.
