Robert Hruby

Robert Hruby has a diverse and extensive work experience in the lumber industry. Robert began their career in 1983 as a Laborer and Forklift Driver at RAM Forest Products, eventually moving up to the role of Assistant Plant Manager. In 1988, they joined Noranda Building Materials as an Inside Sales representative. From 1989 to 1995, they worked as a Lumber Trader at Green Forest Lumber Limited and then as a Senior Lumber Trader at Angus Forest Products from 1995 to 1997. Robert joined Weston Forest in 1997 as a Senior Commodity Lumber Trader, and in 2000, they became a Softwood Product Manager. In 2002, they briefly served as President at Georgian Bay Forest Products before returning to Weston Forest as a Softwood Product Manager until 2002. Robert then had a brief stint as Vice President of Purchasing at Great Lakes MSR Lumber Limited in 2003. From 2004 to 2005, they worked as Senior Purchasing and Sales Manager at Bel Air Lumber Inc. Robert then returned to Weston Forest in 2005 and held various roles, including Director of Purchasing, Vice President of Purchasing, and Vice President of Purchasing and US Commodity Trading. Most recently, they have held the position of Vice President of Purchasing and Operations at Weston Forest since 2018.

Robert Hruby completed their Bachelor of Science in Forest with a specialization in Wood Science and Wood Products/Pulp and Paper Technology from the University of Toronto between 1985 and 1990.
