Cllr Charles Williams currently serves as a News Editor at The Tab and as a Councillor for Weston-super-Mare Town Council, both positions held since May 2024 and May 2023, respectively. Prior experience includes roles as a Bar Associate at J D Wetherspoon, News Reporter for Newsquest and Archant, and a Broadcast Assistant at BBC News. Charles Williams holds a BA (Hons) in Multimedia Journalism from the University of Essex and is pursuing an MA in Political Communication at the University of Leeds.

Weston-super-Mare Town Council
Weston super Mare Town Council is the only democratically elected body exclusively representing the civil “parish” and people of Weston-super-Mare, including Worle and Uphill. Re-founded 2000 to carry out the civic role of the former borough abolished in 1974 which left Weston without its own Council, unlike any of the other 39 parishes in North Somerset. There are 31 councillors elected every 4 years who take no allowances, as well as a small number of employed staff to implement their decisions. The Council is entirely independent of North Somerset Council and raises its own budget to spend on services and facilities. The Council is responsible to the people it represents, the local community.
