Matt Hartles

Matt Hartles is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in the banking and finance sector. Currently serving as Senior Legal Counsel at Westpac New Zealand since May 2022, Matt previously held similar roles at LendInvest and was Vice President at Barclays Bank UK PLC from October 2015 to March 2020, where Matt specialized in areas such as regulated mortgage contracts and compliance with FCA regulations. Additional experience includes a legal secondment at Eversheds Sutherland and previous positions at Olswang LLC, Russell McVeagh, and Bell Gully, focusing on various aspects of financing transactions and regulatory support. Matt holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Commerce in Economics from The University of Auckland and has also studied at Utrecht University.
