Yi Zhang

Yi Zhang has a diverse and extensive work experience. They started their career as a Software Engineer at Oracle in 2012, where they demonstrated their knowledge of different components and fixed bugs in Java for the OWB project. They then worked as a Software Engineer at Red Hat from 2015 to 2018, where they implemented Insights data parsers and plugin components in Python. Afterwards, Yi joined Brave New Coin as a Software Developer, where they implemented microservices using Java and related technical skills. They then transitioned to Spidertracks as a Senior Data Engineer, where they developed end-to-end data pipeline solutions using AWS services. Currently, Yi is a Lead Data Engineer at Westpac New Zealand, where they work on an innovative ML project with the latest edge cloud services. Throughout their roles, Yi has gathered business requirements, led solution designs, and collaborated with stakeholders. They have expertise in various programming languages, frameworks, AWS services, and CI/CD tools.

Yi Zhang earned a Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering (Japanese Reinforcement) from Dalian University of Technology from 2008 to 2012. In addition to their degree, they have obtained certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in July 2022, Effective Communication Skills from The University of Auckland in 2022, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert from Microsoft in January 2023, AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in November 2020, and Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate from Microsoft in June 2022.
