Mustafa Zaidi

Mustafa Zaidi has extensive work experience in the field of psychiatry. Mustafa began their career as a Psychiatry Resident at John Peter Smith Hospital in 2005 and completed their residency in 2009. Following this, they worked as a Staff Psychiatrist and Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at UT Southwestern Medical School, affiliated with Dallas VA Hospital, from 2009 to 2017. During this time, they provided outpatient psychiatric care and also gained experience in inpatient services.

From 2017 to 2020, Mustafa worked as a Telepsychiatrist at Sheridan VAMC, where they provided care to patients with various mental health problems, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, ADHD, PTSD, substance use disorder, and personality disorders. Mustafa primarily worked as an outpatient psychiatrist but also provided inpatient services.

In 2020, Mustafa joined Valle Vista Health System as a Telepsychiatrist. In this role, they worked on a psychiatric unit and substance abuse detox unit, treating patients via telepsychiatry. Mustafa also played a role in restoring competency for forensic patients and performed competency evaluations. Additionally, they formulated treatment plans to safely detox patients from drugs.

Most recently, Mustafa started working as the Medical Director at Westpark Springs in 2022.

Mustafa Zaidi's education history begins at Karachi University, where they pursued a degree in Medicine (MBBS) from 1995 to 2000. After completing their undergraduate studies, they joined the Psychiatry Residency Program at John Peter Smith Hospital from 2005 to 2009, working towards a Doctor of Medicine (MD) in Psychiatry.

Aside from their formal education, Mustafa Zaidi has also obtained additional certifications. In 2016, they became a Diplomat of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology-Board Certified, obtaining this credential from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Inc. Mustafa also acquired a Buprenorphine Certification from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) in the same year.
