Melanie Horn

Director, Athletics at Westridge

Coach Horn has been part of Westridge athletics and academics in various capacities for more than 20 years. Currently a member of the Westridge Leadership Team and the Curriculum and Academic Standards Committee, she has taught physical education, coached MS volleyball, soccer, swimming & diving, track & field and varsity basketball, and served as academic dean and interim director of Upper School. She has served as an assistant and head coach for basketball teams competing at both the high school and college levels, including at USC, Occidental College, and Cal State Fullerton. Melanie co-authored “Cognitive Anxiety and Mental Errors in Sport” for the Journal of Sport and Exercise Psychology in September 1990. She is currently on the Board of Directors for Huntington Dog Beach and the Webb-Oak Mutual Water Company, serves as President of the Prep League, and is a member of the Alliance of Women's Coaches and the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA). She is also an avid photographer and dog agility competitor.
