Tarra Stevenson

English Dept Chair, Co-director Of The Writing Center, Teacher at Westridge

Tarra Stevenson is an accomplished educator and writer with extensive experience in teaching and literary consultancy. At Westridge School since August 2010, Tarra serves as the English Department Chair, Co-Director of the Writing Center, and teacher of various high school English classes, including Honors English, AP English, and Creative Writing. Additionally, Tarra has been the Book Reviews Editor and Column Writer for The Coachella Review since January 2021, and worked as a Literary Consultant for a SHOWTIME project in 2019. Previous teaching experience includes serving as an English Instructor at Los Angeles City College from August 2005 to June 2016, where Tarra taught a range of university-transferable courses. Tarra holds a Master's degree in English Language and Literature/Letters from Loyola Marymount University and an MFA in Fiction/Screenwriting from the University of California, Riverside.
