Garret Higginbotham

Principal at Westside Community Schools

Garret Higginbotham has a significant amount of work experience in the education field. Garret began their career as a Teacher at Westside Community Schools' Rockbrook Elementary in 2003 and held this role until 2008. During this time, they also served as a Teacher Leader from 2013 to 2014 and as an Administrator from 2013 until the present. In July 2014, Garret transitioned to become the Principal of Rockbrook Elementary. Additionally, from 2008 to 2011, they worked as a Teacher at Underwood Hills Focus School, where they played a role in promoting diversity and leadership development among students.

Garret Higginbotham earned a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2003. Garret then pursued a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Peru State College, which they completed in 2007. In 2008, Garret enrolled at the University of Nebraska at Omaha and obtained a Master's degree in Educational Administration and Supervision in 2010. Continuing their education, they went on to earn a Doctor of Education (EdD) degree in Educational Administration from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 2021.
