Jakub Mamos has extensive experience in information security and risk management. Jakub currently serves as the VP Information Security at WFCU Credit Union, where they are responsible for ensuring the protection of information assets and digital channels. Jakub also leads strategic security planning and collaborates on initiatives such as AI partnerships and Canadian payments modernization. Prior to this role, Mamos worked as the VP IS Risk Management at Servus Credit Union, where they operated the corporate-wide information risk management practice and provided strategic risk and security advice to executives. Jakub was also involved in various initiatives within the Canadian Credit Union System. Jakub Mamos has a strong educational background in the field of information systems security and management. Jakub began their education at Concordia University of Edmonton, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Political Science/Sociology in 1998. Following this, they attended NAIT (Northern Alberta Institute of Technology) from 1998 to 1999, where they pursued a degree in Computer System Technology, specializing in Systems Support.
In 2000, Mamos returned to Concordia University of Edmonton to pursue an After-Degree in Information Systems Security, completing it in 2001. Building on this foundation, they then obtained a Master's Degree in Management of Information Systems Security from the same institution, graduating in 2007.
Mamos has also acquired several additional certifications to further enhance their expertise in the field. In 2003, they obtained the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification from (ISC)². Additionally, they hold the ISSPCS-P (International Systems Security Professional Certification Scheme Practitioner) certification from The International Systems Security Professional Certification Scheme, which they obtained in April 2007. Finally, Mamos acquired the GCIH certification from SANS GIAC in March 2007.
