Joint Regional Manager Vic/tas at WGA (Wallbridge Gilbert Aztec)

Astrid Hagqvist currently serves as the Joint Regional Manager for Victoria and Tasmania at WGA, joining the management team in Melbourne in February 2025. With a robust background in engineering and leadership within the Australian Army, Astrid has held positions such as Major and Officer Commanding 105 Construction Squadron. Astrid’s previous roles include Engineering & Assurance Manager for the Suburban Rail Loop at TSA Riley, and Principal Transport Engineer at AECOM, where significant contributions were made to major infrastructure projects, including the Melbourne Metro. Educational achievements include a Master's in Engineering Management from the University of South Australia, along with Bachelor's degrees in Civil Engineering and Urban Planning from the University of Melbourne, and further study at prestigious institutions including Saïd Business School and MIT. Astrid is also pursuing a Graduate Certificate in Military Studies from the Australian Defence College.
