Sharita Cooper

Sharita Cooper is a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in financial systems and corporate accounting. Currently serving as a Senior Financial System Analyst at WGL since March 2013, Sharita oversees the design, creation, testing, and maintenance of financial data structures, utilizing tools such as PeopleSoft Financial, BlackLine, and Power BI to enhance reporting efficiency and visibility. Prior roles include Corporate Accounting Manager, Internal Audit Supervisor, and Senior Corporate Auditor, where Sharita managed corporate accounting closings, led internal audits for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, and addressed internal control weaknesses. Sharita's career began at PricewaterhouseCoopers as an Auditor, followed by a position as Accountant Senior Professional at CSC. Sharita holds a Master's degree in Accountancy from the University of Notre Dame, earned between 2003 and 2008.
