Christopher Nelson's work experience begins in 2006 when they served as a faculty member for the National Association of Independent Schools Student Diversity Leadership Conference. From 2008 to 2010, they worked as a blogger for BTheSite.com, where they wrote about a range of topics including current events, politics, and race. In 2010, Nelson began their career with NBC News, starting as a News Associate and later working as a Researcher. Christopher also participated in a yearlong fellowship at NBC News, during which they honed their research, writing, and producing skills. In 2011, they worked as a Freelance Journalist, contributing to various outlets. In 2013, Nelson joined MSNBC as a Coordinating Producer and then transitioned to NewsNation Network in 2020, where they worked as a Managing Editor overseeing the FeedRoom desk and coordinating live coverage. In 2021, they took on the role of Director of Talent Relations & Recruitment for NewsNation Network, managing talent recruitment and providing coaching and mentoring to staff. Additionally, throughout their career, Nelson has worked as an Adjunct Professor at Mercy College and Mandl The College of Allied Health, teaching courses in critical inquiry, oral communication, and information literacy. Nelson also had a fellowship with the Kiplinger Program in 2016, where they received training in digital media, data journalism, and social media.

Christopher Nelson, MSL completed their Master of Studies in Law (MSL) degree at Georgetown University Law Center from 2011 to 2012. Prior to that, they earned their B.A. in Communications from Loyola University Maryland, graduating in 2008. Christopher also obtained their High School Diploma from McDonogh School in 2004.
