Arnaud Pourchez

Arnaud Pourchez has a diverse work experience. Starting with their most recent role at Whale Seeker as a Data Engineer - MLops, they currently hold this position since February 2023.

Prior to that, from April 2021 to December 2021, Arnaud worked at 4th Whale Marketing as a Data Team Lead, where they were responsible for the data strategy of the company. During their tenure, they created and managed the analytics roadmap, set up data infrastructure, managed machine learning projects, and provided insights and recommendations for product optimization. Arnaud used tools such as Python, SQL, Google Analytics, and Google Tag Manager.

Before their role at 4th Whale Marketing, Arnaud worked at Behaviour Interactive from September 2018 to January 2020 as a DevOps/LiveOps Data Analyst. Here, they reported on game KPIs, set up A/B tests, presented analysis results to stakeholders, and created in-house Python packages to improve data usage. Arnaud utilized tools such as Python, SQL, AWS, and PowerBI.

Arnaud also has prior experience as an Assistant Brewer at Groupe Geloso in 2018 and as a Science Animator at Mad Science of Montreal and Ottawa from September 2017 to July 2018.

In academia, Arnaud worked as a Master Degree Student - Research at Université Laval from January 2017 to March 2018, where they studied Arctic mesozooplankton species and their adaptation to the highly seasonal Arctic marine ecosystem. Arnaud also gave talks and served as a Teaching Assistant during their time at Université Laval.

Arnaud has presented their research at various conferences and symposiums, including the Annual Marine Ecology Modeling Research symposium, Quebec Ocean Annual General Assembly, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Arnaud Pourchez's education history includes a variety of academic achievements in the field of biology and oceanography. In 2020, Arnaud obtained a certificate in Python Programming from the Zero To Mastery Academy. Prior to that, from 2017 to 2018, they pursued a Master's degree in Marine Biology and Biological Oceanography from Université Laval. In 2016, Arnaud attended the Calcul Québec Summer School, specializing in Computing. Arnaud also holds a Master 2 degree in Oceanography and Marine Environments from Pierre and Marie Curie University, which they obtained in 2013. Before that, Arnaud completed a Master 1 degree in Biology of Tropical Ecosystems, Ecology, Evolution, Systematics, and Population Biology at Université de La Réunion in 2012.

In terms of additional certifications, Arnaud received a Remote First Aid & CPR/AED certification from the Canadian Red Cross in July 2022. In February 2022, they also obtained a PADI Marine Resource Management certificate. In October 2021, Arnaud completed the Fundamentals Online Workshop offered by Management 3.0. Additionally, they are a certified PADI Rescue Diver, having obtained this certification in July 2021.
