Emily Charry Tissier

Emily Charry Tissier has a diverse work experience that spans various roles and organizations. Emily is the Founder & CEO of Whale Seeker since July 2018. In 2021, they co-founded Nets for Net Zero. From November 2015 to May 2018, they worked as a Research Professional at Concordia University. Emily also served as a Biologist at WWF-Canada from May 2017 to January 2018, where they conducted research on narwhals and their critical habitat. Before that, they worked as an Ecologist & Biostatistical Analyst at Contango Strategies (November 2014 - October 2015) and as a Research Professional at the University of Saskatchewan (October 2013 - August 2014). Emily gained research experience as a Research Fellow at the University of Minnesota (December 2012 - September 2013) and as a Research and Teaching Assistant at the University of Saskatchewan, Department of Biology (September 2009 - December 2011). Emily also worked as a Project Manager at the Bonanza Creek Long Term Ecological Research Station (LTER) in July-August 2011. Emily started their career as a Field Research Technician at the University of Saskatchewan, Population Ecology Lab from May to August 2009.

Emily Charry Tissier obtained their Bachelor of Science degree (B.Sc.) from the University of Minnesota's College of Natural Resources in the year 2004. Emily later pursued further education and completed their Masters of Science degree in Biology at the University of Saskatchewan from 2009 to 2011.
