Andreas Dilger has extensive work experience in the technology industry. Andreas currently holds the role of Chief Technology Officer at Whamcloud, Inc., starting in 2018. Andreas began their career at Sun Microsystems in 2007 as a Senior Software Engineer, working on the Lustre distributed parallel filesystem. Andreas worked at Cluster File Systems from 2002 to 2007 as a Senior Software Engineer, driving the initial design, development, and support of the Lustre parallel filesystem. Prior to this, they worked at Turbolinux as a Senior Engineer, focusing on filesystem development for the Linux kernel. Andreas started their professional career at IBM Canada Ltd. as a Unix Services Specialist from 1996 to 1999. Overall, they have a strong background in filesystem development and has held significant roles in various organizations throughout their career.
Andreas Dilger attended the University of Calgary from 1987 to 1991, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering. Andreas subsequently pursued further education at the same university from 1993 to 1995, focusing on Non Linear Systems.

Whamcloud was established in 2010 by High-Performance Computing (HPC) experts Brent Gorda and Eric Barton when they recognized that future advances in computational performance were going to require a revolutionary advance in parallel storage. Whamcloud’s vision is to evolve the state of parallel storage by focusing strategically on highperformance and cloud computing applications with demanding requirements for scalability.
