Neil Burns

Vice President, Technical Services at Wheaton Precious Metals

Neil Burns has a strong background in the mining industry, with over 20 years of experience. Neil started their career as a Geologist at Breakwater Resources in 1998 and worked there until 2002. Neil then became a Consultant at Snowden Mining Industry Consultants from 2003 to 2005. Following this, they joined Lundin Mining Corp as a Corporate Resource Geologist from 2005 to 2008.

In 2008, Neil joined Silver Wheaton as the Director of Geology, a role they held until 2011. Neil then moved to Wheaton Precious Metals Corp, where they currently serve as the Vice President of Technical Services since January 2012. Throughout their career, Neil has gained extensive expertise in the geology and technical aspects of the mining industry.

Neil Burns completed their high school education at CEC from 1988 to 1990. Following this, they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Earth Sciences at Dalhousie University from 1990 to 1995. Later, Neil enrolled at Queen's University in 2002 and completed a Master of Science degree in Mineral Exploration in 2003.
