Whidbey Camano Land Trust
Ryan Elting is an experienced conservation professional with a strong background in land management and ecological restoration. Currently serving as the Executive Director and former Conservation Director at Whidbey Camano Land Trust since April 2014, Ryan leads initiatives for land acquisition and protection in collaboration with private landowners. Prior to this role, Ryan held various positions at The Nature Conservancy, including Longleaf Pine Restoration Program Director and NC Sandhills Program Director, where duties focused on landscape-scale conservation efforts for longleaf pine forests. Ryan's earlier experiences include roles as a Post-graduate Conservation Fellow at the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education, Natural Area Park Manager at Orange County Parks Department, Wetland Restoration Technician at Duke Wetlands Center, and service as a National Environmental Service Member with AmeriCorps. Ryan holds a Master's degree in Environmental Management from Duke University and a Bachelor's degree in Biology and Environmental Studies from Tufts University.
