Lauri Pesonen has worked in the software engineering field since 2002. In 2002, they worked as a Software Developer at Meridea Financial Software Ltd. From 2003 to 2006, they worked as a Senior Engineer at Cambridge Consultants Ltd, and during this time they also pursued a PhD in Computer Science at the University of Cambridge. In 2004, they were a Summer Intern at IBM Research, where they implemented event-based middleware on the Java OSGi platform. From 2006 to 2008, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Progress Software, where they contributed to the Apama Complex Event Processing engine. From 2008 to 2010, they worked as a Software Engineer at Red Gate Software, where they implemented OAuth2 Authorization and Resource services in C#. From 2010 to 2014, they were a Self-Employed Contractor, mainly working on both frontend and backend web technologies. From 2014 to 2019, they worked as a Principal Software Engineer at BigPay | Challenge Banking, where they designed and developed microservices to support and implement a number of retail financial products. Finally, in 2021 they began working as a Lead Software Engineer at Whimsical.
Lauri Pesonen received their Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Computer Science from the University of Cambridge in 2008. Prior to that, they obtained an MSc in Computer Science from Teknillinen korkeakoulu-Tekniska högskolan between 1995 and 2001.
