Jose Costa

Jose R. Costa has a diverse work experience spanning various leadership and board roles. Jose R. is currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer of Whistle Express, a position they assumed in May 2022. In addition to this, they are also a Board Member at Lightbridge Academy since May 2023. In 2018, they authored a book titled "Leading with Edge." Prior to their current roles, they were a Member at YPO since January 2016 and served as the Managing Partner at LVN Capital Group starting September 2017. Jose R. has also held board positions at Axum Capital Partners and Simplicity Car Care from May 2022 to December 2023. Notably, Jose held executive positions at Bojangles' Restaurants, Inc. as the Chief Growth Officer & EVP from June 2021 to May 2022, and as the Chief Development Officer & EVP from September 2019 to June 2021. Jose R. was also the Chief Executive Officer, North America at GrandVision NV from September 2017 to March 2019. Before that, they served in various leadership positions at Driven Brands, Inc., including Group President, Paint & Collision from June 2015 to September 2017 and President, Maaco from March 2013 to June 2015.

Jose R. Costa holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Strategy and Marketing from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business, which they obtained from 2009 to 2011. Jose R. also has a Master of Science (MS) degree in Integrated Marketing Communications from Northwestern University from 2003 to 2004. Prior to that, they completed a postgraduate program in Integrated Marketing Communications at Universidad Metropolitana (VE) from 2002 to 2003. Their undergraduate education includes a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Business Administration and Management from Universidad Metropolitana (VE) from 1996 to 2002. In addition, Jose R. Costa has obtained various certifications, including being an Executive Member of the Latino Corporate Directors Association (LCDA) and a recipient of the NACD Board Leadership Fellowship from the National Association of Corporate Directors. Jose R. has also completed leadership development programs at Harvard Business School and the Center for Creative Leadership and has a certification as an Advanced Open Water Diver from PADI.
