Mark Quinlan

Co-Founder & Managing Partner at White Hat Capital Partners

Mr. Quinlan is a senior investment professional with more than 20 years of experience in the Technology sector. At White Hat, Mr. Quinlan has led the Firm’s investments in Comtech Telecommunications, MACOM Technology Solutions, MiX Telematics and RigNet (now Viasat).

Prior to co-founding White Hat Capital Partners LP in 2016, Mr. Quinlan was Managing Director and Co-Head of the Global Technology Investment Banking Group at Stifel. In addition, he served as a Member of the Investment Banking Management Committee as well as the Fairness Committee. Mr. Quinlan joined Stifel in 2010 through its merger with Thomas Weisel Partners. Mr. Quinlan joined Thomas Weisel Partners in 2000 with a team from Merrill Lynch and was promoted to Partner in 2006. He joined Merrill Lynch in 1996 following two years with Brown Brothers Harriman & Co.

During his investment banking career, Mr. Quinlan advised corporate boards across the technology sector on strategic acquisitions and related financings. He has counseled executives and Boards through a range of cross-border M&A transactions involving counter-parties across Europe and Asia. Mr. Quinlan also led a multitude of equity, equity-linked and debt financings including IPOs, follow-ons, convertible notes, bridge loans, high yield, investment grade, syndicated term loans as well as bank debt.

Mr. Quinlan’s acquirer-side clients included: Exar (now MaxLinear; Taiwan-listed public company acquisition, including bridge financing), Maxim Integrated (now Analog Devices; public company acquisition, four divestitures and debt financing), MaxLinear (IPO and public company acquisition), and Microsemi (now Microchip; six public company acquisitions (including counterparties in Canada and Israel) and one private company acquisition, including $2+ billion of aggregate acquisition financing), among others.

His sell-side advisory assignments resulted in transactions including the following acquirers: Agilent, Cobham, Intel, Qorvo, Qualcomm, ROHM, Samsung and Texas Instruments, among others.

Mr. Quinlan advised numerous companies on equity and equity-linked offerings, including: Aeroflex (now Cobham), Atheros Communications (now Qualcomm), Hittite Microwave (now Analog Devices), Inphi (now Marvell), Mellanox (now NVIDIA), Peregrine Semiconductor (now Murata); PMC-Sierra (now Microchip), among many others.

Mr. Quinlan maintains extensive senior executive relationships across the technology, investment management and financial services sectors.

Mr. Quinlan received an A.B. in Economics and a Certificate in Political Economy from Princeton in 1994 and has held various alumni leadership positions for both Princeton University and Phillips Exeter Academy over the past 25 years.
